Manesh Girn

Manesh is in the final year of his BA in Cognitive Systems here at UBC. He has been a research assist in the Christoff Lab for most of his undergrad and has been involved with a number of projects related to meditation, mind-wandering, and the functional network dynamics of the brain.

He is currently finishing up an EEG study examining the precise neural dynamics underlying spontaneous thought, and is also, alongside recent PhD Kieran Fox, in the midst of writing a comprehensive review paper on the neuroimaging of psychedelic experience. Upon graduating, he intends to pursue a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, likely with a focus on employing functional connectivity-based network analyses of fMRI data to characterize the variegated functional dynamics of posteromedial cortex.
